What is CPT?

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured and evidence-based therapeutic method designed to assist individuals in healing from PTSD. Over the course of 12 sessions, participants engage in an educational process that includes learning about common trauma reactions, acquiring effective distress management techniques, and identifying and challenging distorted beliefs.

Through guided exercises and meaningful discussions, CPT empowers individuals to reshape their perspectives, thereby reducing the emotional intensity of traumatic memories and enhancing overall well-being. Clients undergoing CPT often report significant improvements in their ability to manage distressing emotions, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and enhance their overall quality of life.

By addressing the core beliefs that fuel feelings of guilt, shame, or fear associated with trauma, CPT promotes lasting healing and encourages adaptive behaviors. Offering a structured path to reclaiming mental well-being, CPT supports individuals in moving forward with renewed strength.
